The method matters.
Clear criteria. Public sources. No credentials or global rankings invented to fill a layout.
Primary sources for formal claims.
Official organizer pages are the basis for the ranking and championship records presented here. Articles link to a relevant primary source when discussing formal rules or results. Editorial learning frameworks are suggestions for questions and supervised study, not a claim that an organization has adopted our curriculum.
Ranking snapshot method.
The displayed tables capture the top five entries in the publisher’s male and female adult black-belt gi categories, under its “2025–2026 IBJJF Ranking” label, as checked September 12, 2026. We preserve the names, points, and academy labels associated with that view. We do not calculate a combined global rank or imply that the tables update automatically.
The ranking page and its methodology can be revised at different times. We do not silently reinterpret the season label or reconstruct a table with assumptions. For a current official decision, consult the organizer’s current display and documentation.
Directory inclusion and limits.
The directory contains the same ten selected competitors, organized alphabetically by display name. Each profile links to a public IBJJF athlete record and distinguishes the shortened display name from the competition name. We do not infer promotion lineages, belt degrees, teaching credentials, or private contact details.
Inclusion reflects the selected record set, not a universal endorsement. Absence is not evidence that an unlisted person lacks a legitimate rank. A professional credential inquiry should identify the precise claim and the body or instructor responsible for it.
Championship records.
Champions are reported by organizer, edition, discipline, age category, belt, and weight or open class. The page includes the adult black-belt gi winners from the 2026 IBJJF World Championship and a separately labeled 2025 open-class comparison. A podium result is not used to invent match counts, submission totals, or opponents.
Publication and review dates.
Journal pages distinguish their displayed publication dates from a September 12, 2026 content review. The visible dates, structured metadata, and RSS entries use the same values. Ranking capture dates describe the source check, not continuous monitoring. A historical record should not be mistaken for a live feed.
Corrections and editorial independence.
For a correction, identify the exact page and claim and provide a public primary source through the contact page. A material factual revision should be accompanied by a clear correction note. An unresolved field is omitted rather than supplied from guesswork.
